Abstract
In two-shunt-resistor-based (2-SRB) permanent magnet synchronous (PMSM) drives, the phase currents can only be measured in certain switching states, which brings difficulties in implementing the finite-control-set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) and other non-modulator-based control schemes. A current sampling scheme is proposed for the FCS-MPC of the 2-SRB PMSM drives to reconstruct the phase currents when they are not measurable. To improve the accuracy of the reconstruction and the current control, a recursive least-square regressor considering the incomplete current information is proposed to estimate all parameters in the prediction model. The experimental results on a pump PMSM verify the performance of the proposed scheme in current reconstruction and in model estimation. And the advantage in voltage utilization is also shown.
