Abstract
Finite control-set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) is a promising scheme for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with its advantages of high-dynamics, simple structure, and multi-constraint control. The modulated model predictive control is an enhanced FCS-MPC, which has small steady-state current harmonics benefitting from the synthesis of multiple vectors. However, due to the high control gain and the limitation of inverter output capacity, modulated MPC has a large tracking error in the over-modulation region. To address this problem, a modified modulated MPC is proposed to minimize tracking error. Among that, the tracking error function is designed by the predictive current error to find the optimal voltage vector combination. The experimental results are eventually conducted for validating the proposed methods.
